Metra successfully carried out the research and development project MET.RAIL, funded under the FRI-FCS “Major Projects 2019” call. Through vertical process integration — the ultimate goal of the project — Metra was able to install and test cutting-edge technologies for the production of subassemblies for the railway sector. Integrating the entire industrial workflow within a single production site generates technical efficiencies, resulting not only in better management of potential issues, but also in reduced production cycle times and lower associated indirect costs.
