METRA confirms its commitment to excellence in railway production. The company obtained the renewal of the IRIS Rev.04 – ISO 22163:2023 certification, following a rigorous audit conducted by RINA Service.

The audit involved the Foundry, Extrusion, Machining and Welding production departments, which proved to operate in accordance with the highest industry standards. The positive outcome of the audit confirms the validity of the quality management system adopted by METRA and the company’s ability to meet the needs of its customers, guaranteeing the maximum safety and reliability of its products.

The IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) is specifically designed for companies operating in the rail sector with the aim of creating a common quality assessment system for suppliers of rolling stock and related equipment and components that is recognised at an international level.

The standard provides specific requirements for the railway sector, including: Project Management, process management, RAMS analysis (reliability, availability, maintainability and safety), LCC analysis (whole product life cycle cost), outsourcing of processes, configuration and change Management, support during commissioning and after sales, obsolescence management, FAI (First Article Inspection) activities and risk and opportunity management.
